Family Weekend is an annual event for family members to visit the Lehigh campus to participate in special programs and activities with their student.
In 2019, Family Weekend was held from Friday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27. This year, Family Weekend was part of the traditional Founder’s Weekend celebration.
Each October since 1879, Lehigh has commemorated Founder Asa Packer and the magnitude of his impact with a campus celebration. This year, the Founder’s Day tradition was expanded into a full weekend of festivities.
Registration for all Founder’s Weekend events, including Family Weekend, opens in September.
Whomever a student defines as family is welcome to participate in Family Weekend. This may include -- but is not limited to -- parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Registration for Family Weekend opens in September. You will receive an email announcing that registration is open. You can also receive updates on Family Weekend on this website or through the Lehigh University Parents and Families Facebook page.
Family Weekend events begin on the Friday before the weekend. You may choose which events you would like to attend with your student. There is no obligation to attend every Family Weekend event. A full schedule of events will be mailed to parents and published online in September.
Beginning Friday morning, Family Weekend guests may park at the New St. Parking Garage and in the metered locations around the Welcome Center/Bookstore area. There will also be shuttles as well as campus buses available to all Family Weekend guests. After 5 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday, guests may park anywhere on campus.
Casual dress is appropriate for most Family Weekend events. Comfortable footwear is highly recommended for walks on our beautiful but hilly campus.
Show your Brown & White pride during Family Weekend by sporting your favorite Lehigh gear. If you need to stock up, the Lehigh bookstore will be open during Family Weekend with a great selection of Lehigh apparel for sale.
We hope you’ll join us on Friday for the free Brown & White BBQ on the Clayton University Center lawn featuring a variety of delicious food truck dishes.
