Founder’s Day has been marked every year since Asa Packer’s death in 1879 and is one of Lehigh’s oldest traditions. In addition to celebrating Packer’s legacy, the event has expanded in recent years to showcase alumni generosity, honor the leaders of the Lehigh community, and acknowledge new appointments and promotions of administrators and faculty members.
This year’s Founder’s Day ceremony will be dedicated to the The Campaign for Lehigh launch, with a series of three events across the country. The Campaign for Lehigh is the most ambitious comprehensive fundraising effort in the history of Lehigh, as the university aims to raise more than $1 billion for student scholarships, programs and experiences, and research and distinction. These investments will touch nearly every aspect of the university, ensuring we can continue to deliver a transformational educational experience to all students and fuel the innovations that change our world.
Respective offices are planning separate events to celebrate those that would have been recognized at the traditional Founder’s Day ceremony.
