Only service dogs are allowed to accompany their owner to Commencement, no house pets. In accordance with the American Disabilities Act, the appropriate information will have to be provided if requested.

For your comfort and convenience, an indoor ceremony viewing site will be available in Stabler Arena located south of Goodman Stadium. The arena is handicap-accessible offering chairs with backs, concession stands, and restrooms. Commencement programs will be distributed inside the front entrance. Shuttles will be available to transport guests between the stadium and arena during the ceremony in case your guests change their mind on where they would like to view the ceremony.

In addition, the Commencement Ceremony will be streamed online on the main Lehigh Commencement page. If your guests are unable to attend, they will be able to watch and enjoy the Commencement Ceremony from any location with internet access.

Please keep in mind that Commencement will be held outdoors in a football stadium so bring your creature comforts. Hats to shield your head from the sun, sunglasses, sunscreen, stadium cushions, etc. are recommended. In the event of rain, bring your umbrella and rain gear. High heels are not recommended for guests and/or graduates.

Complimentary water stations will be located throughout the stadium and water bottles will be placed under the graduates’ chairs. The ceremony typically runs from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. so don’t skip breakfast. For your convenience, concession stands will also be open.

GradImages is the official photographer for Lehigh University’s Commencement Ceremony. GradImages photographers will take pictures of each student as he/she receives a congratulatory handshake on the stage along with two to three more photographs during the ceremony. Additionally, before and after the ceremony, GradImages photographers will be walking around Goodman Stadium taking photos with graduates and family members. These photographers will be wearing red vests for easy recognition. The images they capture will be available online along with the images they capture of each graduate during the ceremony.

Proofs and order forms will be emailed to each student within 7 days of the ceremony. If you have not received your photos or have questions regarding your photos, please contact GradImages at www.gradimages.com or (800) 261-2576.

Since photographs will be available, family members and guests are encouraged to remain in their seats, relax, and enjoy the ceremony.

For the benefit of all graduates and their families, please demonstrate courtesy by remaining in your seat for the entire ceremony. The ceremony should last until approximately 12:45 p.m. Following the ceremony, all graduates are invited to meet with family and friends at their college tent located on the south side of Goodman Stadium. Limited seating available. For those making restaurant reservations after the ceremony, allow yourself enough travel time and anticipate traffic delays.

Personalized announcements are available through the Lehigh University Bookstore. To order, please visit this site.

For assistance with making hotel reservations, you may contact Lehigh’s official travel agency, Travel Time at (717) 855-2133 or (717) 855-2122. Or check out the university's Local Activities & Resources for a complete listing of accommodations, regional information and highlights to make the most of your visit to Lehigh University.

College graduation is an achievement worthy of a special celebration. Honor your graduate's commencement with a beautiful bouquet of roses. They are available by the dozen, presented to you gift boxed, along with a gift card with your personal message. All proceeds benefit the Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley, a non-profit United Way agency. Order roses for your graduate here

This Commencement event is being recorded and will be streamed online the day of the event. Your attendance at Commencement will indicate your consent for streaming and the appearance of your image in any footage, including the use of the recording for future purposes. The ceremony is being recorded for web streaming purposes only and is not commercially available.

Each student will hand a card with their name printed on it to a faculty member who will read their name immediately prior to the student walking across the stage. Upon arriving to the Student Assembly Area at 8:30 a.m., each student will pick-up their card. At that time, the student is requested to write their complete name phonetically (first, middle, last name) on the card to help the faculty member read their name correctly. With the volume of students graduating, it is likely that this is the first time the faculty member is seeing the student's name. The phonetic spelling is very important in aiding the pronunciation of the student's name correctly.

Diplomas will be mailed to the address that the graduate listed when completing their graduation application. Estimated delivery time is four to six weeks after Commencement. If your graduate has not received their diploma by July 8, please contact Registration & Academic Services at (610) 758-3200.

The Epitome is Lehigh University's yearbook. For more information and to purchase for your graduate, click here.
