Research concentrations available in the Biology PhD program include biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, neuroscience, and evolution and behavior. Research opportunities within and across these concentrations are available. Students admitted to this program typically have an undergraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or neuroscience. Depending on the student’s undergraduate education, core courses in the concentration of choice are first taken, followed by seminar style courses in which journal articles from the current scientific literature are read and discussed. Graduates of this program have gone on to careers in academia, industry, and the government.
