5.21.21: A Message for Students from President Simon

A message sent to students from President Simon.

Students,

As the academic year concludes, I wanted to commend you for your grit and resilience this year and congratulate you for all you have achieved under such trying circumstances.

We experienced an historic year, but you adapted and moved forward with your academics and with your lives. You leaned on and looked out for one another, and you found ways to make the most of a challenging situation. It has been difficult in ways we could hardly have imagined, yet you persevered. I’m sure you’ve learned from this experience, in ways you may only fully appreciate in the years to come.

For both this year’s graduating students and last year’s graduates, we look ahead with excitement to our virtual and in-person Commencement celebrations and honoring the classes of 2020 and 2021.

I wish you and your families a happy, healthy and enjoyable summer. I am grateful for and appreciative of all of you, a talented group of students who have continually pushed to do your best work through the difficult times of the past year.

Sincerely,

John D. Simon ’19P

President
