AIAA Names Lehigh Alumnus A Top Young Aerospace Leader

Geoffrey Andrews ’15, who finished a B.S. in mechanical and a minor in aerospace engineering in just three years, was recently named one of the world’s top 20 emerging aerospace leaders by Aviation Week magazine and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

The honor is conferred on undergraduate or graduate students at universities around the world.

Andrews, a licensed private pilot, divides his time between Purdue University, where he is a doctoral student in the department of aeronautics and astronautics, and NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he holds a co-op position with the Propulsion Systems Analysis Branch.

At Lehigh, Andrews helped found the student chapter of AIAA, was a research assistant in the Wind Tunnel Lab, and played first horn in the Lehigh University Wind Ensemble and the Lehigh University Philharmonic Orchestra.
