Open forums on presidential search set for campus community

As efforts to identify Lehigh’s next president continue, a series of Open Forum meetings for faculty, staff and students have been scheduled in early December by the Presidential Search Committee.
The forums will provide members of the Lehigh community with an opportunity to identify, review and discuss the qualities, attributes, and skills Lehigh’s next president should possess, says Bill Hecht ’64, chairman of the Presidential Search Committee.
During the sessions, committee representatives will provide an overview of the search process and discuss the role of the search committee, the search firm, the Board of Trustees, and the Lehigh community.
“Input provided by participants in the three Open Forums will be discussed by the search committee in its work to articulate the qualifications required of Lehigh’s next president to build on the strong foundation that currently exists and to take the university to a new level of excellence,” Hecht says.

There will be three forums, each for a specific segment of the campus community.
• The Graduate Student Open Forum is scheduled for Thurs., Dec. 1, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Oberkotter Auditorium - Room 270, Sherman Fairchild Center, Lewis Lab (Physics Building). Light lunch will be served.
• The Undergraduate Student Open Forum is scheduled for Thurs., Dec. 1, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in Oberkotter Auditorium - Room 270, Sherman Fairchild Center, Lewis Lab (Physics Building). Beverages and dessert will be served.

While the forums are open to all campus community members during the appropriate times, those who plan on participating will need to confirm attendance in advance. Invitations to participate in the Open Forums were sent to campus community members and included details on how to confirm attendance.
