Startup Academy at the Lehigh@NasdaqCenter Launches in Silicon Valley

The Lehigh College of Business and Economics is piloting a three-month summer internship alongside a credit-bearing course that will place business students in early stage startups in Silicon Valley. Students will intern with early to mid-stage startups that are part of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center ecosystem.

The students will work alongside founders on valuable milestones critical to company growth, such as go-to-market strategy, customer discovery and more.

The application of lessons learned in the classroom to real-world business problems will expose students to the entrepreneurial process and the culture of Silicon Valley.

The internship will also be framed by a credit class running concurrently that will meet weekly at the Lehigh@NasdaqCenter. The meetings will enable the students to contextualize their experience, compare experiences, and learn from their peers, instructors and guest speakers. The students will get valuable internships supported by a structured environment.

The Startup Academy will provide the opportunity to highlight Lehigh’s alumni, parents and friends with key connections to the entrepreneurial spirit of the San Francisco Bay area, as well as further the university and CBE’s efforts to connect with these alumni and firms on the West Coast.
