Zoellner Arts Center to host Academic Symposium

A civil engineer, an artist, an economist and a chemist will be the featured speakers tomorrow (Tuesday, March 29), when Lehigh holds its 2011 Academic Symposium at the Zoellner Arts Center.

The biennial event will also include an exhibit by students of their research projects.

The theme of this year’s symposium is Inspire, Create, Serve.

Two of the four speakers have received the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship. Two are members of the National Academies.

The symposium begins at 9 a.m. with welcoming remarks by Alan Snyder, vice president and associate provost for research and graduate students, and Alice Gast, university president.

It will close at 5 p.m. with remarks by Patrick Farrell, university provost.
