Each October since 1879, Lehigh has commemorated Founder Asa Packer with a campus celebration. Join us for a weekend full of events Thursday, October 13 to Sunday, October 16, 2022.
 

Relive Founder’s and Inauguration Weekend 2021

Founder’s Celebration 2021 featured recognition of Lehigh leaders of all generations and the inauguration of Lehigh’s 15th president, Joseph J. Heble ’82.  Following the ceremony, the festivities continued with a festival, followed by a fun run the next day.

Lehigh Founder Asa Packer was an industrialist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. In 1865, he took action to create a new kind of university, which combined technical and classical disciplines into a practical education that would prepare students for leadership. Today’s Lehigh is on the forefront of higher education thanks to his commitment and generosity.
