Undergraduate Admissions

Information for Non-U.S. Citizens

The university awards financial aid on the basis of demonstrated need. Merit scholarships may also be awarded on a limited basis. No application is necessary for merit scholarships.

Non-U.S. citizens do not qualify for any federally funded programs, therefore the university subsidizes all funding through institutional sources. Each year we anticipate a fairly small and highly qualified group of non-U.S. citizens to be offered financial aid.

The following forms are required for consideration of financial aid for non-U.S. citizens. All international student financial documents (outside of the CSS Profile) can be submitted online as a PDF through the LU FileSender or submitted to luinternational@lehigh.edu; this includes the Certificate of Finances and International Student Financial Aid Application.

STEP 1

CSS/FINANCIAL AID PROFILE: The PROFILE application is accessible at www.collegeboard.com/PROFILE and can be completed online. You will be required to pay a registration fee as well as a fee for each college to which your information will be sent. You may pay by credit card or online check. If your family circumstances prevent payment of this fee, you should contact us with the following information:

  • Name (as it appears on the Common Application)
  • Country of Residency
  • Exchange rate between local currency and US dollars
  • Total family income for 2015 in US dollars
  • Total family assets for 2015 in US dollars

OR

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION (ISFAA) (PDF): We will accept electronic or paper copies of the International Student Financial Aid Form. Paper copies should be submitted as a PDF directly to to luinternational@lehigh.edu or through the LU File Sender.

STEP 2

All non-US citizens are required to submit the Certificate of Finances form filled out for all four years and to submit it by the Common App deadline to luinternational@lehigh.edu or through the LU File Sender. The preferred form is the Lehigh University Certificate of Finances form (PDF).  The College Board's International Student Certification of Finances (PDF) is also acceptable.

Note: Tuition, room and board at Lehigh can be upwards of $57,000; if your family cannot support this amount for 4 years of study, your application will not be complete without a CSS Profile or International Student Financial Aid Application. A bank statement/certificate is not required with your Certification of Finances form.
