Severe Weather Information

The commencement ceremonies will be held outdoors rain or shine in Goodman Stadium. We highly recommend guests dress for the weather and bring such items as sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, ponchos, raingear, stadium cushions, and comfortable shoes.

In the event of extreme weather conditions that threaten personal safety (such as a severe thunderstorm, lightning, or tornado), a ceremony may be moved to the next available time slot on the same day or moved to the next day and the time of the ceremony will be determined based on current weather predictions for that day.

The decision to move the ceremonies will be determined by the President, the Provost, and Athletics Facilities & Events POC. The decision will be made and shared by 6:30 a.m. the morning of each ceremony. The weather will be monitored throughout the day. If threatening weather appears after this decision and is 2 hours prior to the start of a ceremony, ceremonies will be adjusted accordingly.

This page will provide up-to-the-minute information regarding the status of ceremony times and dates that could be changed due to predicted weather. We advise graduates, guests, faculty, and staff to bookmark this page.
