Graduation will be held outdoors rain or shine in Goodman Stadium. We highly recommend guests dress for the weather and bring such items as sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, ponchos, raingear, stadium cushions, and comfortable shoes.
In the event of extreme weather conditions that threaten personal safety (such as a severe thunderstorm, lightning, or tornado), two abbreviated ceremonies will be conduction in Stabler Arena. Students should arrive dressed in their regalia and will be directed to ‘line up’ locations upon entering the lobby. Faculty processing should attend their college ceremony.
The schedule is as follows:
10:00 a.m. College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Graduating students should arrive at 8:30 a.m.
2:00 p.m. P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, College of Business and Economics, and Interdisciplinary Degree Programs (IDEAS, IBE, and CSB)
Doors open at 12:45 p.m. Graduating students should arrive at 12:45 p.m.
Due to timing limitations, degrees will be conferred en masse. Individual names will not be read. Diplomas will be mailed to graduates four to six weeks after Commencement to the address they listed when completing their graduation application. No tickets will be required.
The decision to move the ceremony will be determined by the President, the Provost, and Athletics Facilities & Events POC. The decision will be made by 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21. For weather information, call the University Hotline (610) 758-NEWS or visit www.lehigh.edu.
Please note: The weather will be monitored throughout the morning. If threatening weather approaches prior to 7:45 a.m., the two abbreviated indoor ceremonies will take place. If threatening weather approaches after 9:00 a.m., attendees will be urged to take cover in Stabler Arena or under the Goodman Stadium stands. Depending on the forecast, the President will be advised to resume or cancel the ceremony.
