Native peoples of the Americas are being greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The morbidity and mortality rates of some Native communities rival that of New York and New Jersey. However, the effects of the pandemic on Native communities has received little mainstream media coverage and some US states are not even counting Native peoples in their COVID-19 statistics. This colloquium will look at some of the issues in Native communities because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
