An affinity for Lehigh

When I graduated from Lehigh in 1988, the options for staying in touch were pretty limited, especially for folks who lived outside the Lehigh Valley—which was most of us.

We got an Alumni Bulletin in the mail a few times a year …. We got together with the local alumni club, if we happened to live near one …. And a couple of times a decade, we came back to campus for Reunion.

That was about it. Lehigh was still a part of us, but it was pretty difficult for us to feel like we were still a part of Lehigh.

How times have changed—and they keep on changing!

Your Alumni Association is doing more than ever to bring Lehigh to you, no matter where you are. Each year, we add more local events across the country—from Career Networking Receptions to Lehigh-Lafayette Telecasts.

We’re also creating connections that go far beyond your local alumni club, putting you in touch with alumni around the world who share your interests and Lehigh experiences. That’s our new Affinity Program, helping you to hold onto those Lehigh connections that made your experience great.

Alumni Day this fall (Saturday, Oct. 20) is full of opportunities for you to plug back in to the Lehigh Family. Visit our event calendar and you’ll find something for just about everyone… from Greek chapters, to athletic teams, to Gryphons, to academic departments. So please, join us for an event that interests you.

We are just days away from launching one of our most exciting tools in the Affinity Program: the Lehigh Online Community—a social networking site just for Lehigh alumni and students, where you can make connections, get in touch, get the news, and stay involved. It’s part of an entire suite of online services designed to make the world smaller and bring South Mountain closer.

Whenever I walk into a room of Lehigh alumni, I feel an incredible sense of community—the product of a common experience and a shared commitment to a place that gave us all so much. I hope each of you feels that way—not just every five years, but every day. We’re working hard to make sure that you do.
