Alice Gast featured in international leadership journal

In a recent interview in LEADERS magazine, President Alice P. Gast discussed Lehigh’s leadership initiatives, research programs and culture of service, and the growth in the enrollment of international students at the university.

“Lehigh excels in that interface between forefront research and forefront student experiences,” said Gast. “It is the right size for students who want additional attention from faculty and the opportunity to take theoretical knowledge and put it into practice with hands-on experiences.

“I’m very excited about taking all that we do and integrating it further into a forefront research institution that brings these experiences right down to freshmen.”

Founded in 1978, Leaders describes itself as “the one magazine that represents a forum of ideas and opinions on the major issues of change, and that distinguishes the special provinces of the world’s leaders.”

In addition to the interview with Gast, the current issue of LEADERS contained interviews with Pennsylvania leaders, including Gov. Ed Rendell, and with education, health care and financial experts.
