Tuesday, Feb. 23: “Back to Lowndes County, Alabama”
Estizer Smith, a photographer living in Easton, Pa., presents a photodocumentary of her work. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Neville Auditorium 3. It is sponsored by the Women’s Center and is part of Lehigh’s celebration of Black History Month.
Wednesday, Feb. 24: “Imagining International Relations as a Pluralist Social Science”
The Donald F. Textor Lecture Series of the department of international relations features Patrick Thaddeus Jackson, associate professor of international relations in the School of International Service at the American University in Washington, D.C., and director of general education for the university. The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Room 112 of Maginnes Hall.
Wednesday, Feb. 24: “Dilemma: A History of Fraternalism in America”
The office of multicultural affairs presents an address by Walter Kimbrough, president of Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Ark. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Packard Auditorium and is part of Lehigh’s celebration of Black History Month.

Thursday, Feb. 25: “The Corporate Role in Global Health”

The Health, Medicine, and Society Program presents an address by Brenda Colatrella, executive director for corporate responsibility with Merck & Co. Colatrella will focus on the benefits and pitfalls of creating partnerships between pharmaceutical corporations, nongovernmental organizations and governments in an effort to improve global public health.

Thursday, Feb. 25: “Fabrication, Investigation, and Applications of Ferroelectric Domains”
The colloquium series of the department of physics features Elisabeth Soergel of the University of Bonn (Germany). The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Room 316 of Lewis Lab.
Thursday, Feb. 25: “The Body in Feminist Theory: Wittgensteinian Perspectives” (POSTPONED TO THURSDAY, MARCH 25, AT 4:10 P.M. IN PACKER MEMORIAL CHURCH)
Toril Moi, the James B. Duke Professor of Literature and Romance Studies at Duke University, will analyze feminist theories of the body and show what a Wittgenstein-inspired perspective can bring to the debates about sex, gender and the body. The lecture is part of the Humanities Center’s Speaking Bodies series and is co-sponsored by the departments of English, modern languages and literature, and philosophy, and the Women’s Studies program. The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Room 200 of Linderman Library.

The seminar series of the department of industrial and systems engineering features Guodong (Gordon) Pang of Columbia University. The event begins at 2:30 p.m. in Room 451 of Mohler Lab.
Friday, Feb. 26: “Progress Engendered by Collapses of Record Setting Structures: Malpasset Dam, World Trade Center Towers and KB Bridge in Palau”
The Khan Lecture Series features Zdenek P. Bazant, McCormick Institute Professor and W.P. Murphy Professor at Northwestern University. The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Sinclair Auditorium. It is co-sponsored by the department of civil and environmental engineering and the department of art and architecture.

Sunday, Feb. 28: “Bobby McFerrin Workshop”

Bobby McFerrin, a 10-time Grammy Award winner with a four-octave range, will conduct a free workshop for faculty, staff, and students from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Zoellner Arts Center’s Diamond Theater. You must have an admission ticket to attend. Tickets can be obtained by phone at 610-758-2787, online at www.zoellnerartscenter.org (regular service charges apply), or in person at the box office. There is a limit of one free ticket per Lehigh University ID. Tickets ordered online will be held in Will Call and your ID will be verified when you pick them up that Sunday. If you stop by in person, no service charges apply. Tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis so order early. The general public may attend as well at a cost of $5 per ticket.
