Tuesday, Sept. 28: Forced From Home: Global Refugees in the Lehigh Valley

Refugees from Iraq, Syria and Burma (Myanmar) tell the stories of how they fled their native land and came to the Lehigh Valley to start new lives.

The event is sponsored by the Global Union, Catholic Charities, and the Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition. It begins at 7 p.m. in the Global Union Lounge in Coxe Hall.

Thursday, Sept. 30: “The Discovery and Development of New Materials and Techniques at Oak Ridge National Laboratory”

The department of physics and the Sherman Fairchild Center for Solid State Studies present an address by Lynn Boatner, director of the Center for Radiation-Detection Materials and Systems at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee.

The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Room 316 of Lewis Lab.

Thursday, Sept. 30: “Exploring the Evolutionary Role of RNA Editing with Computational Models”

The department of biological sciences presents an address by Dr. Luis Mateus Rocha of Indiana University in Bloomington.

The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Room B-023 in Iacocca Hall.
