The department of industrial and systems engineering presents an address by Timothy C. Y. Chan, assistant professor of mechanical and industrial engineering at the University of Toronto.

Tuesday, Oct. 18: “Church and State: The Civil War and the Apocalyptic Imagination”

The department of history, the American Studies program and the Holberton Fund present the Eleventh George Harmon Lecture on the American Civil War with an address by Joan D. Hedrick, the Charles A. Dana Professor of History at Trinity College.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in Whitaker Auditorium.

Wednesday, Oct. 19: “Nanoscale Dynamics in Extreme Environments”

The department of chemistry presents an address by Ken Knappenberger Jr., assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Florida State University.

The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Neville Auditorium 3.

Wednesday, Oct. 19: “An Innovative Approach to Healthcare: Building a Better Delivery System”

The Healthcare Systems Engineering program presents a town hall and a panel discussion with healthcare industry from professionals from the Mayo Clinic, Lehigh Valley Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, Capital BlueCross, Geisinger Medical Center, Bayada Nurses, and the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Wood Dining Room of Iacocca Hall. It is cosponsored by the Lehigh Home Club and the department of industrial and systems engineering.
