Lehigh announces tuition increase for upcoming academic year

Lehigh University’s Board of Trustees recently approved tuition and fee increases for the upcoming 2012-2013 academic year.

In recognition of the continuing challenging economic climate, the university’s Board has approved the undergraduate tuition increase of 3.1 percent. This represents one of the smallest percentages of increase in tuition in four decades, and it is expected to be among the lowest tuition increases at colleges and universities across the country. The rate of tuition increase at Lehigh for the past two years was 3 percent.

For the upcoming academic year, tuition will increase by $1,260, from $40,660 to $41,920. The total cost of attending Lehigh as an undergraduate, including tuition, typical room and board charges, and the undergraduate technology fee, will be approximately $53,450.

The university remains committed to making a Lehigh education accessible by containing costs while continuing to keep the Lehigh student educational experience the primary focus of resource stewardship.

Lehigh is also committed to providing financial assistance to students in need. Families receiving or applying for financial aid and families whose circumstances have changed can find information on available programs on the Lehigh Admissions website.
