The 147th Lehigh-Lafayette football game was a crowd pleaser in more than one way. The 37-13 game was a big win, particularly for the seniors who are among the few undefeated classes (joining 1964, 1975, 1976, 1981, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002) against The Rivalry. Congratulations!
Energized fans viewed the game at 65 telecasts across the country and in London. “Like” the Lehigh Alumni Association’s Facebook page to see photos from the telecasts and our contest winner. There was a celebrity sighting—see if you can find him!
Lehigh also won the second annual Lehigh-Lafayette Giving Challenge: Lehigh 2,529, Lafayette 2,074. While we were trailing mid-week, the Lehigh family showed its pride and brought home the trophy, which was doubly sweet after last year’s loss by just seven points!
It was a rematch that we should all be proud of, and your donations will go a long way toward supporting financial aid and athletics. Furthermore, your generosity increases the university’s reputation and the value of your degree, since alumni participation is one factor used to determine national rankings. Every gift, regardless of size, counts toward this important measurement.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the challenge. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated and vital to Lehigh’s future. As we turn our attention to the NCAA playoffs (Lehigh plays Towson on Dec. 3—click for tailgate and regional telecast details!) and the holidays, I wish you a season filled with the Lehigh spirit.
