In the News: Professors urge action to reduce greenhouse gases

In an op-ed published by The Morning Call of Allentown, two Lehigh earth and environmental sciences professors lay out the scientific case for reducing greenhouse gases.

Dork Sahagian, a professor of earth and environmental sciences who specializes in global change issues, and Benjamin Felzer, an assistant professor of earth and environmental sciences who specializes in climate and ecosystem modeling, write that “there is no doubt as to the cause of CO2 increase—human activity.”

And they contend that “if we stop 21st century emissions, the rate of warming would be greatly reduced and eventually the climate would be stabilized.”
