Nomination period opens early for University Awards

The campus community is invited to submit nominations for the 2009 University Awards.
Nominations can be found online for all 18 of the faculty, staff and teaching assistant awards given annually to talented individuals in recognition of their contributions to the Lehigh community. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to browse the list of available awards to nominate deserving colleagues and educators.
The University Awards Committee, comprised of Peggy Plympton, committee chairperson and vice president for Finance and Administration; Mohamed El-Aasser, vice president and provost; Jackie Matthews, associate vice president for Human Resources; and Joanne Anderson, director of the President’s Office; extended the nomination period this year to include the fall and spring semesters.
Nominations for the 2009 awards will be accepted from October 21, 2008 through February 17, 2009. Any submissions received after the deadline will be considered for the following year’s awards.
Nominations will be reviewed by selection committees, made up of various faculty, staff and student leaders, which will present recommendations to the university’s senior officers for approval. Award recipients will be notified in mid-April, and will be recognized at the annual faculty and staff dinners held in early May.
