Part-time MBA program is fifth-best of its kind in the Mid-Atlantic

Lehigh’s part-time MBA program has been recognized as the fifth-strongest program in the Mid-Atlantic region, and the 35th nationally by BusinessWeek magazine.

The rankings program is conducted every other year by the editors of the magazine, who analyze a set of academic data and survey graduating seniors about their MBA experience. Lehigh finished tenth in the nation in overall academic quality, and its students awarded the program an “A” in teaching quality.

It is the second consecutive time Lehigh has been ranked among the region’s highest performing part-time MBA programs by the magazine.

The survey results were released Nov. 5 by BusinessWeek.

According to the editors, 99 programs from across the United States were ranked. Each program had to meet a number of eligibility requirements in order to participate, such as GMAT scores, graduation completion rates, and the length of professional work experience. Each program also had to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, or AACSB.

A total of 26 programs surveyed in the Mid-Atlantic region, which includes the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics offers the only AACSB-accredited part-time MBA program in the Lehigh Valley.

“We are very proud to be considered among such great company, an achievement that reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff and the exceptional quality of nearly 300 current part-time MBA students and our strong alumni base,” said Martin Saffer, associate dean of graduate programs.

“The Lehigh MBA team continues to increase the number of new program opportunities and offerings for our part-time MBA students, to enhance student organizations, and to incorporate a more global focus throughout the curriculum.”

“This ranking is a validation of the hard work of our students, alumni, faculty and staff,” said Saffer.
