Research symposium to identify The People's Choice

For the eighth consecutive year, the David and Lorraine Freed Undergraduate Research Symposium is showcasing the top student engineering research projects of 2011. This year’s event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, in the main lobby of the STEPS building.

Twenty-two students, representing eight major fields, will explain their work and answer questions posed by a panel of judges, as well as faculty, students, staff and visitors.

Winners earn travel scholarships to attend professional conferences, and also move onto the university-wide competition to be held later in March.

Members of the Lehigh community are encouraged to stop by to vote for the “People’s Choice Award.”

The symposium is endowed by Andrew D. Freed ‘83 in honor of his parents. Freed, a member of the advisory board to the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, is president and CEO of Medical Device Investment Holdings Corp. in Malvern, Pa.
